Hi, I've just posted a new article over at Ztrains.com that looks into using the Z-Bend Track (ZBT) modular standard for homebound as well as for traveling layouts: http://www.ztrains.com/pages/beginning/modular/modular.html John Cubbin http://www.ztrains.com
Great reading John, and very useful for those considering building modules. Z-Bend Track is turning out to be THE standard in Z, and clubs are starting up all over. I think there are 5 new ZBT clubs in the last year alone! -Robert
Thanks Robert, I agree that the Z-Bend Track standard looks to be dominant player, and for good reason. In their online PDF manual they are clear and to the point... making it easy for a beginner to grasp. Of course, after seeing photos of the ZBT modules from the Ohio shows, you realize just how impressive these modules can become. And still a person with a single end module can get in on the fun... that's a pretty cool thing in my view. John http://www.ztrains.com
I agree, great little article and something to inspire some of us to get building. Any other Easterners also doing modules (I'm in Prince Edward Island and would really like the idea of bringing my module to a show to share) Chris
Hi Chris, there is a new Z-Bend Track club on the east coast... well they meet in Wilton Connecticut sometimes, but they are in several states. Michael Hilliard's group. Tri-State Z Scalers, Tri-State New York There is also an updated list of other Z clubs in Ztrack Magazine. I recommend the magazine as all the new stuff shows up there. -Robert
