PASSENGERS OF HISTORIC YOSEMITE VALLEY RAILROAD SOUGHT EL PORTAL, CA -- Passengers who have traveled on the Yosemite Valley Railroad, which ceased operations in 1945, are being sought for a centennial commemoration scheduled for this Saturday and Sunday. The town of El Portal has been able to accumulate extensive memorabilia for the celebration, but is having a difficult time finding individuals with personal recollections about the trains. "We want to have people at the centennial who can provide first hand accounts of the Yosemite Valley Railroad experience," says author Jack Burgess. "Yosemite Valley Railroad passengers will be our celebrities for the weekend," adds event organizer Sunshine Goodmorning. Yosemite Valley Railroad passengers wishing to participate are invited to call Goodmorning at 209-379-2577. - B. J. Hansen, MyMotherLode.com
This would be an interesting day. Over the years, I've been surprised by the interest in this company. Especially after seeing a couple of great model railroads in magazines. Boxcab E50
