Although the regular 2004 season for the Blue Goose has been cancelled, a railroad enthusiasts' group has chartered the train for Saturday, 24 July 2004. The group has been gracious enough to permit the YWRR to open the charter to all who would like to take this train .. which is probably the only excursion to be conducted this year. The steam locomotive #19 is still down for boiler repairs. This excursion will be powered by a 1953 GE SW-8 .. a very unique version that is equipped with dynamic brakes. The train will depart the YWRR depot at 11:00AM. Return time is open and depends upon the charter. Fares are: $10 for adults and $5 for children. Space is limited so call the YWRR for reservation(s) at (530) 842-4146. No walk-ons will be accepted unless there's room just prior to departure
Bill Took the Murder Mystery train some years back. Great trip. Our in costum gitup was heavy clothes. Lots of fun
I remember that train Marty. If we can get the Siskiyou tunnel open again, we can generate some revenue to improve our rolling stock and old #19 can be reassembled for the 2005 season. Right now, we need all the riders we can get! /
