For the last four days "Yreka Western Railroad's" web site is not available. Is this the begining of the end again for this tiny railroad?
I just tried it. Their site opened up just fine. Maybe this was just a brief internet glitch? Boxcab E50
Well, I couldn't access it after reading the initial post. Our own Ironhorseman is the webmaster there. Maybe he was updating the site?
Hi everyone. The owner of the YWRR has discontinued the original host for the YWRR's website. The new url for the railroad is: http://www.yrekawestern.com The management has also deemed it necessary to have a new website constructed, so this will mean the website I created will not be used anylonger after the new site goes on line. I'm sure it will be much more modern and user friendly than the one I made. No Bob .. the YWRR is going strong; and Jim .. I'm still working there until after Labor Day when I shall terminate my employment in favor to build a wood shed and get firewood in for the winterl. I'm sure if they find themselves in a pinch for an engineer, they'll call me to fill in, which I will gladly do.
passenger I'am glad to see you guys going strong down there!!We herd in the rumer mill that we my be getting passenger service back here in southren Oregon from Ashland to Grants Pass,It would be nice if they would bump it over the hill to Yreka don't you think? JIM
Thanks for the information. I'm embarrassed that I didn't even know about the line. Now, plan a visit up your way. Enjoyed the px and history!!! ole croc
Jim .. it would be nice, but modern passenger cars will not fit through the tunnels. Maybe if someone has access to a few classic cars.. ??? Ole Croc .. be sure to look me up when you come. I'll see if I can upgrade your ticket to a cab ride!
