I note looking at the calendar that yesterday (14 June) was supposed to be the first day for revived passenger service on the YW. Did this actually happen? There are pictures on Trainorders of the #19 pulling the Harrimans and a couple veneer loads into Montegue today, but no word as to whether the coaches had people in them or not. If they didn't make this deadline is there a new target reopening date? Thanks much in advance. Jeff Moore Elko, NV
Jeff - We are back in business .. the Harrimans had about 40 or 50 passers on them, with an equal number yesterday (15th). We thought it would be interesting for the railfans to have a combined consist on the 14th. D By the way .. please check your PMs.
It's up and running Jim. Had a guy with a diesel earlier this week. Steam is REALLY expensive though. The cost of fuel is awful!
Bill, I am so glad the YW has weathered the storm of money problems. I am also glad you are back. My wife and I don't get north to much but if we do I will be sure to stop by and interduce ourselves. Again, great job to all involved, Shannon
That would be great, Shannon. I'll look forward to meeting you and your wife, and I'll try to make your ride on the YWRR a little special.
Bill- Thanks for the quick answer to my question. This is great news...a big congratulations to you and everyone else involved with the YW for making this happen. I will be in the area next week, and will be up to Yreka to ride the train. I grew up riding the Blue Goose at least a couple times a year...I am looking forward to doing it again. By the way...please check your private messages...I have a response for you. Jeff Moore Elko, NV
I received the message yesterday, Jeff. And I printed it out and gave it to the boss. See you when we see you then.
