Need to increase ridership on your modern LRT or commuter rail system? Maybe you need a park and ride!

Aoshima is releasing a medium-size, five-deck parking structure of the kind that can be found trackside across the US. Maybe you need to add parking capacity in an an area of town that's already built out. Or maybe your railroad already has a large surface lot, and you want to free up all that land for a "transit village" or some other development. Whatever your reasons, your parking garage is now here.

At this point, you may be asking, how do I get my hands on one of these?

Well, alas, Aoshima is a Japanese company and they haven't announced any plans for a US release. If you absolutely gotta have one right now, you can order it from a Japanese online retailer. You'll probably drop about $20-25 on shipping.

But if you're down to wait a little, consider pestering your favorite online retailer. Considering how common these things are stateside, there's no reason we shouldn't be able to have 'em sold here as well.

Love it. Might put two together.

I already built one out of styrene that is a flat, but in reality, if I had the depth, the interior detailing would sell this one as a bit more realistic.

I will be contacting my local guy. I have a nice small city on the layout but there is no where to park all the cars.

    Thanks.

Is that long "golf club" in the second picture a hook to remove disabled vehicles from the bowels of the parking deck?

I love it! I'd rather see some 1950s-1970s version though.

I've said there is a need for more parking structures to accomodate the increased density of our burgeoning N scale cities. With all those big highrises from Lunde Studios and CMR [Custom Model Railroads] the amount of surface parking would take-up too much real estate that would be needed for our railroad right of ways.

Well I hope they come into the US market, any decent sized city has these things all over the place! Maybe one near the train station...another mixed into the business district somewhere...do some real urban railroading!
