So, I found dozens of sites with helpful information on how to wire the old version of the Walthers double crossover. Somehow, I seemed to be the only person in the world that needed help wiring the new DCC friendly version. Either that, or my search skills stink. Armed with a piece of paper, some colored pencils, and an ohm meter, I set out to figure it out on my own. As it turned out, the frogs were the only rails completely electronically isolated. This made the wiring fairly simple; I hope. Below is what I came up with. It looks good to me on paper. I am hoping an extra set of eyes will locate anything I may have missed. I am using two Tortoise switch machines to run the four turnouts. The two machines will operate together providing either straight through, or full crossover. I can't think of a situation where I would need only one crossover at a time. Dashed lines are factory jumpers. Dotted lines are added wiring. Normal: Crossover:
