hi every one....i am sure this is a simple answer to my question. But i cant find any info on it. I also posted this on the nscale posts...

The question is... I picked up a few yard signals at a train show and they are green over red LED's and they have 3 wires red, blue and white. The white one has a factory resisitor built in to the wire. So i am assuming it will handle the voltage.

I would like to hook them up into my rail yard so when i throw my manual peco switches the open line is green and when it is closed it is red.
but not sure how to wire it???

right now my rail yard only has power for what ever line i throw the switch for this is the way i designed it so i can store engines and cars and pull them out
when i want. The signals would look great with this set up.

I am running two separate electrical units. 1 is for the track and engines. the other is for accesssories (ie lights and buildings)

How do i hook these up and to what circut or can i connect directly to the track...but it three wires and just a little confused. Do i hook up the white wire with the resistor to the accssory of my transformer and the blue and red wires to the track???

    Help please

    Thanks
    Dave.

My recommendation if you haven't found a solution yet, try this out with a SPDT, a 9V and a circuit board or terminal strip. Wire up the White, Red & Blue wires to the board/terminal strip, then on the opposite side run the white wire to the positive of the 9V. Take the Blue wire and run it to one side of the SPDT then the Red to the other side. The middle of the SPDT now runs to the negative 9V. If done correctly, throwing the switch one way should light up Green or Red, and the opposite the other way. Next all you have to do is hook up the power wire correctly to your 'accessories' power. take the Red and Blue and connect them as needed to the peco switch (just think of that as the SPDT). If the frog is 'live' then you'll need to add resistors to the Red & Blue wires in case of shorts. I hoped this helps you out.
