How can I get xtrkcad to calculate elevations?

Say I have a loop of track that starts at 0", and I want it to calculate the elevation at a give point at 4% grade.... How do I get it to do that automagically for me?

Dis, You have to create an "endpoint" at your given location by using "the split a track" command. The help file explains it pretty well. Open up the help window "contents" and click on "Set Elevations and view the Profile"

    cancel that...got it.

The problem I have now is, it doesnt actually show me a label showing what a defined elevation is at. I can see it in xtrkcad, but if I save it as a jpg, there are no elevations displayed.

Dis, Why do you need to save it as a jpg?

Try using your "print screen" button to save it to your windows clipboard, then you can paste it into any imaging software (paintshop pro, etc.) that can convert it to jpg format.

Nelson, I can only see the elevations on my layouts if the zoom level is at 8:1 or smaller. If I am doing a plan on a large room (30 x 20 or larger) that means there are about 50 screen prints to do it that way. Its not a matter of which imaging program I use, its trying to get those large font elevation labels that the Xtrkcad demo shows (but I dont seem to be able to get).

Dis, Go to "Options" then "Display" in the box you will see settings for "Label font size" and "Label Scale".
Increase the settings to your zoom level for scale, (probably set at 8 now) and set the font font size to your easiest reading.
