hey grant, i've tried out their program, and i must say, i'm impressed. they have a huge library of track. (i just wish i could switch between different track easier than hittin the arrow buttons on the toolbar). printing seems to be a bit of a problem too. maybe my printer...but the printouts come out as if they're faded badly with some lines missing.
We've been talking about that for a while... here's the thread: http://www.trainboard.com/ultimatebb.php/ubb/get_topic/f/33/t/000586.html
Thanks for pinting out that thread. I guess I don't make it over to the Layout Design Discussion group often enough.
Hello If you are more a CAD user then a paper and pencil user. XTrakCad is now available as freeware. It took me a little time to figure it out (who needs to read directions ) but it is a good tool for practicing and playing with layouts. The link is to Silub Technology. http://www.sillub.com/ Happy rails Yolev
I always use the toolbar to remove those libraries I am not using. Since I use ME track, that leaves 4 switches, a tortoise machine, and some Walthers buildings!
About switching between track.... just right click your mouse one the track selection bar. The whole library pops down and you can goto the section you need. ie; Kato Unitrack Straight Track Kato Unitrack Curved Track Kato Unitrack Bumper Track Kato Untirack Turnouts Kato Unitrack Crossings etc, etc.. Hope that helps Yolev Now if I could just figure out how to run trains on it....
There is a Sourceforge project with a dedicated group of tinkerers (er, sorry... developers). The last version released by Silib was 3.1.4. The developers now have 4.0.b2 for Windows and v4 is being ported to Linux and Mac. Cheers David
