WTB 4 sets of (kato Trucks)trucks for Super Chief Cars.
I have some older Pullmans and am lighting them. They had been converted to Micro-Trains and I want all the trucks to match the Super Chiefs trucks. Anybody want to sell or trade for Micro-Trains?

Or you could always buy them from Kato or any dealer who stocks Kato parts. I believe the part number is 11-0602 for silver. They are basically the same truck that has been around since the smooth side cars came out. There are also a few other Kato trucks with different side frames out there. There are the ones for the Budd cars with only the bottom half of the side frame so they could fit under the full skirts. Then the ones that came on the Budd coaches that are an unusual prototype having been built for CB&Q to hold skirting which was later removed. They have an extra forked extension at each end of the side frame that some may find objectionable.

In this case that does not matter. These trucks are vertually identical to the ones that were on, say, the smooth side Santa Fe Valley cars. The only difference is maybe the coupler. You can buy those as speparate parts. My local train store has a bunch hanging on the wall.

The trucks on the Super Chief cars are different than earlier releases.

Very tiny differences. There is a raised lip along the top and bottom of the lower side frame yoke on the new trucks. The bottom spring retainers are more squared off on the newer release. The silver color may be a bit brighter, and the couplers are different. Other than that, they are interchangable and anyone would be hard pressed to see the differences from a foot away.
