After the WP Historical Society convention in Reno, we had to return the display equipment from Portola. We made a special two day run via Winnemucca from Sparks. We ran with 707 on the point, because it had ditch lights and was quieter than 2001. :D

In the train was WP 805, a FP-7. The only California Zephyr engine left. Members work have got it running, but not ready to be blue carded and used outside the museum. She was towed along for the ride and display.

    Greg-

Was there supposed to be a photo? I see a red "X" in each of your two posts.

That should fix it Ken. Some people can see the photos from the other gallery, but not everyone. Don't know why, because it used to work like clock work. Anyway I posted them on RailImages and now they are smaller but here.

A beautiful sight. If only they still ran their home rails regularly. Railfanning would be high on my list of priorities!

Nice shots! Sadly, the only WP power on the orange & silver I ever saw was that GP9 stuffed & mounted in Elko (IIRC, right about where the former ROW ran through downtown).
