here are just a few pics from my recent vacation to the Smokies and the GSMR.
Cool beans, Jake! Where is this railroad located?
GSMRR is a great tourist road in the mountains of Western North Carolina. I was there a few years ago. It is well worth the trip.
That is a great ride. I took it a few years ago behind the 2-8-0. Beautiful ride!
Is the ride mostly out in the country? Or does this train pass through any towns?
Looks like fun to me. How long is the ride?
That's great. Enjoy it.
it is about 4 hrs long, and is located right outside cherokee, NC it mostly goes through the middle of nowhere along the natahala river gorge. it was alot of fun, and it was worth every penny i didnt spend on it! i got complimentary tickets with my media pass.
Did Chriss take the pics?
yeah i suck at using the camera!
Any time you get to ride a train is great, whether you have to pay or not. I have only had a few free train rides in my time.
Ditto that, Russ!
there is a train ride in Colorado, it is owned by GSMRR also, i have my eyes on it...
Go for it. Your pictures are still just fine with me.
