    New Product Announcement...

Ztrains.com is very pleased and excited to announce both a new product line, Ztrains Details, and our initial product release... a Micro-Track compatible wood grade crossing.

    http://www.ztrains.com/pages/details/grade/grade.html

In addition to creating custom Z scale layouts, we've have had many requests for individual scenery pieces. Ztrains Details was established as a result of these requests. Our wood grade crossing is a highly detailed 3 piece, pressure cast resin set. It comes fully sceniced using both natural and synthetic materials. This crossing is designed to fit the new Micro-Trains, Micro-Track 195mm curved track section. The curved section was chosen as it allows users more freedom in placing their crossing.

Our wood grade crossing, as well as future releases, will be available through Ztrack magazine.

Thanks for visiting Ztrains, and enjoy our new wood grade crossing!

    Sincerely,
    John

Hi John! That grade crossing looks real real nice! That's about the most authentic looking crossing I have seen done in any scale! [IMG]

    Hi Robert,

Thank you very much, I appreciate the nice words... especially given your eye and your level of detail. Now I just need a cab forward to rumble over it [IMG]

this is interesting. i would look for a straight or curved section, next, with a tunnel entrance built over it. that is one of the most common and necessary scenery jobs we encounter.

Looks very good, very very tempting. Especially scince I am starting a new layout with the new micro-trains track. However until the turnouts get here, I have not decided on the final track plan. Once that is in place, then I will have the vision for where my roads will go and I most likely will pick up a few. Very fine looking!

Thanks for the comments on this new piece. I'm now deciding on the next one to produce, either a piece that mates up with the new MT track or more of an independent piece / scene thaty can be used anywhere on a layout.

I know that Z Scale Monster has nice some really nice looking tunnel portals available:

I'll have to kick this decison around a bit!

a fueling facility would be nice. both steam and diesel. just not a lot of small diesel details around, like sand tower and fueling columns. the ground around them was usually flat and oil soaked. would be something i would like to have.

tunnel portals are available, true - but a nice rock cut tunnel with sides would be easy to scenic up to -- and the level of detail your doing would mean the tunnel would look right and fit over the track right too. just thinking out loud.

It looks better every time I see it. I will have to get me one, perhaps next pay check. wow! Keep doing things with the track, especially if it looks that good!

I think everyone with an AZL diesel is waiting for sand towers and fueling columns :D I was thinking about making these with brass myself. I emailed Micro Structures about them one day and they said it's on there wish list as well but a release date wasn't set.

    Hi Guys,

I appreciate the suggestion. On that note I'm currently assembling an online survey over at Ztrains that will hopefully give me a clearer idea of what type of pieces, both scenic and utilitarian, would work well in the current Z scale market.

I hope to have this survey live by later tonight or tomorrow morning. I'll drop a note here when it's up and ready.

As always, I really do appreciate candid opinions and views and I hope you'll stop by Ztrains and take part in this survey.

    Thanks!
    John
