Click-N-Ship notice from USPS says that my two WC GP30 are on their way. Meanwhile I stumbled on this picture of WC GP30 no 715 on Wikipedia. Hey ALCO trucks! Will AZL sell ALCO truck separately eventually? Just kidding but it would be nice if we could get ALCO-trucks as replacements for MTL and AZL chassies. Like for Searails RS3 body on MTL GP9/35 chassie. Casting your own is not for everyone to quote Tom Waits. Anyway just wanted to share the link.

That is amazing how many times that type of thing happens. Surely makes for a unique locomotive!

Hi, we got the question about the ALCO trucks early in the GP30 development. It will not be available for this run, but we may add it at a later stage.

Yes! Hans didn't say no thats all I read! Great! I want, I want! A SOO-line GP30 with ALCO-trucks would fit perfectly to my layout. Maybe WC GP30 715 is a former SOO-line unit. They had a trade in program were they kept their ALCO trucks when they got their GP30s. I have to check that.

The etched brass, three layers Alco side frame kit is on the drawing board at L.G.Thek Brasswork. It was part of the Alco
RS1 kit for MTL GP chassis. The side frame assembly need to be glued to the sanded down truck frames. If there is enough interest, I can make the side frame kits available very fast. A side note, The RS1 will be released with the brand new L.G.Thek Brasswork modular chassis.

Casting is not for everyone only for Gerd. That's an option Lajos. For my WC GP30 715 or any future SOO GP30 I will wait and hope for AZL to produce some ALCO trucks. But I have two Searails bodies sitting and waiting for me to pull my act together. One for screwing up and one that I hopefully get right. I'm trying to figure out how close I want to got to turn it into GBW 306 RS20 (rebuilt RS3) later Minnesota Commercial. So I say as Gerd, bring it on. I would buy atleast two sets.

You can purchase a 2006 Hallmark Ornament UP Veranda Turbine for <$20 off ebay, and get 4 pairs of Alco trucks, enough to convert 2 WC GP30's to your favorite road. :D

I bought one of these locos just so I could get these truck sideframes, as there are no Alco locos in Z yet.
