I've just received several sets of CTI TB002-IR sets and found very funny the small envelopes with no instruction inside... Does anyone have inputs for me? how should the IR led and receiver should be wired ? thanks for your hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhelp guys....:tb-hissyfit:
Any standard LED-photo sensor circuit should work. See page 120 of the CTI Train Brain users guide for how they do it.
Ok, I found that : - IR led should always be powered... (straight from feeding bus) - IR receiver has to be connected to my feedback module. - IR receiver produce a signal when "lighted" by an IR led. what i need to find is : - which is which???? - Which resistor goes where? (long or short wire of the led) - What are the specs of the IR emeitter and revecier leds (no data sheet in CTI set) Although, theses sets are pretty cheap in don't want to ruine several off them in bad wiring. :tb-nerd:
Yeahhhh found it! on page 154 of CTI's manual, there's a page talking about the IR kit they sell.... But it isn't written anywhere:thumbs_down:
Looking at the radio Shack parts they reference, the clear unit is the sensor, the red one is the LED. Use a 680 or 1000 ohm resistor in series with the LED. Doesn't matter which lead the resistor is in, although the LED polarity must be correct. The sensor is also polarity sensitive. As with the LED, hooking it up backwards means it just won't work, but you are unlikely to destroy it.
