Hi all.........I have a double crossover........a scissors type with 2 straight tracks and 4 turnouts. This will serve to shunt trains into different platforms of a terminal and to get them on the correct outbound track when going the other way.
In order to accomplish this 2 turnouts will have to be activated........the 2 that are diametrically opposed. So, I plan to control each set of turnouts with one DPDT switch. And, there will be gaps in the track to electrically isolate the crossover. My question is, will the DPDT switch reverse the polarity ahead of the train?
The system is DCC. Thanks for any help.

Probably need a little more info, such as brand of DCC system & brand of switch.

The crossover is by Walthers and the switches will be Atlas. My DCC system is NCE.

I'm not sure what you're asking...I assume that the DPDT switches control the turnout motors (Tortoise?). This is entirely apart from track power control. Also, as there is no reversing section in a double crossover, polarity reversal is not an issue.

DCC doesn't care about track polarity unless there is a reversing section involved (reverse loop or wye), in which case an auto reverse module can be employed to resolve any out of phase condition that occurs at the boundary between the main and the reversing section. It does this by flipping the polarity of the reversing section right under the train. With DC, this would make the loco change direction, with DCC, the loco just keeps on going.

A track diagram might be useful here.

I think perhaps rather than a polarity issue due to revese blocks you are concerned with polarity issues arising from turnouts placed frog to frog. With the Atlas turnouts you mention you will have no problem.
