Window A/Cs

    My layout era is steam from 30s to early 50s. I picked
    up two building (HO) that have a few window A/Cs in
    them. I came to the US from England as a teen in '50.
    We certainly did not have A/C. I don't recall that many
    people did (movie theaters made a big deal out of the
    fact that they were A/C'd). How likely is it that downtown
    (small town) buildings in the early fifties would have
    had window A/Cs? I just don't remember. I can easily
    get them out if they don't belong.

    Window A/Cs were available in most areas of the US in the late 50's, and probably in major metro areas in the late 40s or early 50s. So you are probably OK if you model into the mid-50s.
