Caught a little "whoopsie" at Berea yesterday. A tamper and groomer were working track one on the CSX main line. They put in on a siding right in front of us when the alignment piece derailed. Not a big deal but the guy had to wait for help to show up to lift piece back into track. Then later the crossing signals on Front Street failed to go down almost causing a semi to get hit by a westbound on track one. Seems the groomer (ballast sweeper) ripped some wires along the rails which actuate the crossing gates.
I guess it's a fair indication that the track needs a little work when the geometry car hops the rails...
