Mark, there is definitely room for improvement. I will be doing another conversion (REA perhaps) with rapid prototyped plugs. Hopefully they will fit better.
I model an obscure little short line. To get all the rolling stock I need I've had to patch some equipment out. Here's a couple I have done:
Does "reverse braced" refer to single-sheathed outside braced cars with the braces going in a different direction that usually seen? I guess the USRA single-sheath design and its copies would be more common, as modeled by MTL (and repainted etc by me...) I guess that would be Howe truss, with braces sloping toward the center of the car at the top. Arnold Rapido and Atlas 1st generation (ca 1970) made an AAR 6 panel single-sheathed car with the Howe truss. But Concor made the "alternate AAR" single-sheath 6-panel design with the Pratt truss. Possibly still available? Is one of these the car you would like to see?
