I remember a topic on my hard-to-pull intermodal Walthers well cars and some of you said to get different, better rolling trucks to use. I forgot which MT trucks you said to use.
Could you tell me which ones you used to make them easier to pull? I can't find the original topic.

For stand alone cars the MTL 100 ton Barber roller bearing trucks or the Atlas 70 ton roller bearing trucks are appropriate. Both types of trucks also work on the stand alone drawbar connected cars, as both have centering posts in the coupler box which can be used to attach the draw bars. For the articulated cars I would only used the Atlas trucks, as the bolster pin hole on MTL trucks is slightly off center and it shows when used in the interior locations. Since you have to cut the coupler boxes off, this is a good place to use the Atlas 70 ton trucks with Rapido couplers that have been replaced by MTL trucks on other cars. Initially I had Atlas trucks for the interior and MTL Barber trucks on the ends, for the couplers, but when Atlas started making their trucks with Acumate couplers I converted to all Atlas trucks, as they are actually better detailed than the MTL trucks (IMHO).
