I tried fitting Kadee #5 to the each end of 5 car well set I picked up from eBay as the couplers and such were missing. It did not work.
Is there any where to get the original Con-Cor part? The car has "CSXT 620513 SEA LAND" on it and it's part of a set of 5. Couldn't find it on google.

    Thanks!

I would build a mounting pad for Kadee couplers and use them. I'm assuming the couplers are a truck mount of some kind? Truck mounted couplers are never very reliable and when pushing a car they tend to cause derailments.

Can you explain a little better why the Kadee #5 couplers would not work?
And yes a picture would go a long way towards getting you a knowledgeable answer. There are about a million answers we could give you without seeing the car you are talking about. I have installed couplers on about a hundred cars in the past year - each one was just a little different from the other and required different approaches. Not rocket science but each car tends to be unique.

Right, what southerntier said - only with a little more words if you don't have a lot of experience with Kadee coupler conversions :tb-wink:

There is good info in those Kadee instructions too, and plenty more ways to do it. You can also file that entire area down flat and smooth, drill/tap a hole and use the complete #5 coupler assembly. Keep in mind that you may have to use shim(s) to make sure the coupler is at the correct height. Again - refer to the instructions that came with the coupler and the Kadee website has a lot more info as well.

When I first started, the Kadee website was a bit overwhelming with all the many shank lengths, overset/underset options, etc., but be patient and stick with it.
