"Big hole up north" Could mean a lot of things. Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Kennecott Copper's Bingham Canyon, Utah, open pit mine. Hard to say. Not Butte, as he also stated the weather had been rather warm. Which rules out Montana this past week.
Except that it is ruled out by his temperature comments. Been cold and snowy in Montana. The hint was about heat.
