    Hi;

    I'm in the market to buy the blade of an old semaphore signal and I'm wondering if this is an impossible mission I'm embarking on? I'd like something like this:

    Maybe not shaped exactly like the one in the photo, but something similar.

    I've tried eBay and various antique sites, but to no avail. It's been years since I've even seen one, so perhaps I'm out of luck?

    Hey Colonel can you help here?

    Maybe call a local Railroad, ask for the Signal Maintainence Dept. and see if they might have some still laying around.

    There are still some railroad salvage yards around too. Look in the Yellow Pages, and Search for that specifically on the internet.

    I was on just such a mission a year ago. All I could find were worn out wood blades, with broken or missing specticles. You can start here: http://www.semaphores.com/ [IMG] [IMG]
