Collision repairs? Or maybe they are getting ready to add a hot tub for the crews? There's certainly plenty of space available.

I think they're taking a cue from Tyco, and they're preparing to mount a laser turret on the back to fend off aliens or incoming nukes!

Wouldn't that mess up the weight characteristics over the trailing truck?

I would think doing that would reduce it's tractive effort compared to a standard SD40 or Tunnel motor.

The only reaon I can think of for using the sheet metal off of a conventional SD40 is that there was too much damage to the original Tunnel Motor long hood. I would love to see how this thing pulls, seeing as how there ain't much weight on the real axles (for an analogy, think of a pickup truck with an empty bed- if you put weight on the back, you can get some more traction on the tires).

Just goes to show there's a prototype for everything...........pics of this thing in service oughta bring a guffaw or two at the next slide show. :D :D :D :D
