Only way to go modern in the US. If it's modern and doesn't have cages around the ladders OSHA might shut done my coaling operation. :shade: Just wait to see what my Refinery looks like when I start working on it. I am a 15 year veteran of working construction in Refineries and Chemical Plants. Hobo Tim
Lots of Detail still missing! I still have lots of details to add. Like the handrail that goes around the top of the flood loader. I also need to add vents and other details to the top. For the exposed walkway design I still need to re-design the buuilding on top so the conveyor fits inside. I can't do that till I modify the coveyor design just a little. Other items I know I need are the conveyor supports, buildings on the groundwhere the conveyor comes from, and lots of other detail. I wish we had someone in this Z group that worked at one of these coal flood loading facilities so I could get some photos!!!! At the rate I am going, might be another 10 years before this project is completed! Hobo Tim
Not 4 Sale Chris This baby is not 4 sale! But, that is not to say that I won't work on making these in the future!!! It's all in the design. Right now I have to concentrate on getting the Mi-Jack's to their owners. Stay posted for future updates!!!! Hobo Tim
Tim, maybe this will help: http://www.trainboard.com/grapevine/showthread.php?t=93673 You did a mighty fine job on that flood loader!
Torsja, much too neat and clean. We'll have to make a mess learning from each other See you on Friday with Henrik and other fellow Zmod folks. .
I think you don't have the correct anatomical proportions there Kim. But that's one helluva great looking keg. .
When I was in Bosnia I even saw A BIG John Deer Tractor marshaling RR Cars in the dock area. ( No RR WHEEL ADAPTION) Your little MOW truck is GREAT-- as TONY the TIGRE would say! Fred
Hi Fred, I have another photo, if I remember also from Bosnia. Means that 4 wheels are not always necessary :we-wink:
Your Guess...... Your guess is as good as mine as to whether or not the MOW will be able to pull any rollingstock. It was not created to pull four 2bay covered hoppers of and railcars. Now, if it does pull some, that will be awesome!!!! We just need to wait and see!!! Have a Happy New Year!!! Hobo Tim
Really intersting, I mean Bosnia and US yards, how many road switchers were made since the '50s? And they have to use a truck to pull some hopper, strange.... On the other hand the running costs of such atruck is maybe 1/4 of a propper switcher...
The weight inside a 2 bay covered hopper is easy to remove. Maybe 1 or 2 can run behind it with no weights.
