DCC sound decoders and speakers just made it in for my next two victims.

SD70 is getting flashing ditch lights and separately lit number boards. Trainmaster just functional separately lit mars lights.

A set of Broadway Limited cryogenic tank cars just arrived. They look pretty good with realistic grating in the walks. Only issue was that the joints had broken where the foot rails terminate into the end walks. Looks like the inner packing may have caused that. Simple fix after straightening out the rails with some tweezers then glue back in place.

I bought a cordless drill and circular saw last night, my old ones were in bad shape or not working. Just got though cutting the 3/4 inch Birch plywood for the new module 05 on the Boston Mountains Sub Division layout.

Just got though using both of them, they work great and saved a lot of time. Should have bought them a long time ago when I first started on the layout. The old saw didn't work and the old cordless drill has a bad battery and had to be plugged in to the charger in order to work. Mostly used my 3/8 inch variable speed drill motor so I could control the torque.

Went to an open house at a local club yesterday more to check out the progress on the layouts, visit friends, etc. Not expecting to buy anything but then I saw this for $40.00 and had to have it.

I already have the decoder for it and had been looking for this one at a decent price for awhile.

Great price Brad. I have two and are good runners, but one became hit or miss. I took it apart and ruined the motor contacts. It sits in a sealed box until I replace the motor. Meanwhile the other unit does yard duty.

Went the local hobby shop today and feel like I got a deal. All these for $60.00 total including tax. Mix of Micro Trains, Atlas, InterMountain, Deluxe (never heard of them). But I am happy as all have Micro Trains type couplers. Worked out to about $8.57 per car :) As you can see I buy on price not anything else. As long as they work, I am good. BTW, also found out they are moving down the street from where they are now, again for about the 4th time in 30 years or so!

Those look like shims in the event the modeler were to change out the existing couplers (Accumates?) for Microtrains couplers.

Went to Hobby Lobby tonight and bought a pack of trees, a bag of medium green brush clumps and package of HO scale brick pattern styrene.

On the styrene, even though it is HO scale I like to use it for N scale to add texture. The base of my Ft. Smith Frisco Passenger Depot will be from the styrene.

This GE C45AH (DCC w/sound) from Scale Trains just made it in yesterday. This is from their Rivet Counter line and the detail is very much top notch with applied grabs, brake lines, truck details and more. It runs smooth but I did adjust the CVs to get there as it was a little jerky at the lower speed steps for my tastes to start. Sound for the prime mover isn't that great but the other effects like the horn are decent. Also a bit more finicky running the track but once I cleared up the problem areas on the track she runs pretty good now.

The C45AH comes with a loksound decoder and since I have the lok programmer I did some mods to the lighting to get flashing/alternating ditch lights for grade crossings and organized the function buttons to match the rest of my DCC/Sound loco's but left as is it all works just fine.

I thought I was done buying locomotives but the detail is so outstanding on this I had to get one for myself. Will be keeping an eye out for future releases LOL.

Just wanted to applaud your purchase of Atlas' Columbia, Newberry & Laurens boxcar. (y) This 75 Mile road (controlled by the ACL, now owned by CSX) runs in my home state. I couldn't believe it when Atlas made a model for it. :)
