My latest purchase of any real consequence was a simply gorgeous Key / Yulim brass NYC H6, along with a new Mashima motor and assorted gears, bushings, and so on to remotor it (and the H10 above it) and install ESU decoders.

For Christmas Santa placed a Kato N scale Conrail GG1 under the tree.

    Conrail GG1.jpg

For those of you thinking, how does this locomotive fit my layout or current operations? It doesn't.
The collector in me wanted this one because it's the first GG1 the PRR owned and was given the nickname Old Rivets, because of it's construction.
Second it's painted in the Conrail Bicentennial paint scheme, so gaudy it's beautiful.

It's currently pulling duty on my Christmas Tree layout with the Kato Operation North Pole passenger cars.
But once the tree is put away, Old Rivets will be placed on display with the rest of my collection.

These ScaleTrain hoppers look great. A friend gave me a gift cert so after adding a little chump change I bought the UP units for me and thought I would use the BNSF as a gift. Unfortunately the spouse of my intended recipient bought him 8 of these cars. So I will keep it and find something else.

I got a nostalgia piece from my childhood, which will become a new-stalgia piece with updated technology in the next week or two.

I also got some wired 402 smd LEDs, amazing. They are small enough I was able to glue it to the gs4 rear light and pass it thru the existing hole. They are so small you could use them to illuminate individual numberboards in n scale, or use them as a rear marker lantern on a caboose?

Just purchased 3 of the 2012 Atlas U25B NCE DCC locomotives, suppose to arrive this Monday. Will upload layout photos when I receive them. Anyone else have these, and if so how do you like them? So being new to these after some research it appears these were produced in 2012 and not 2003 as I had thought. When did they start putting the NCE DCC in these? From the beginning in 2003 or other manufacture years? Reason I ask is was wondering if they update things in different production years from the original release?

Second half of the PRR passenger cars I bought from another TB member arrived via UPS today.
Included an AA set of PRR E8/9 locomotives, that I was NOT expecting! Hoping to get photos of stuff a little later, finally!

Have several books coming before long as well, on several subjects.

My last purchase was a $180 3D printer. Wow! Except for locos, rolling stock and track, I'm not sure what I'll buy again.

I bought some material to make a curtain to replace the closest door I removed a few weeks ago. It will hide the staging area in the closest that connects to module 01, still need to draw the ROW on module 01 to get to the staging area.

Not exactly my latest but it's the one that I have a photograph of right now :)

It's a brass N Gauge International dome coach kit, made in the 1970s. Since this was taken I've finished it, decaled it for the Santa Fe
    and added a brass weight.

I remember those kits. I have an old Budd 10-6 sleeper from them.

ABBA set of Great Northern FT units from Intermountain. I past on these several times over the past 10 years... not much new I've been interested in lately... so purely an impulse buy for a road under represented in my collection.

I went to my local hobby shop to look for a model kit. Didn't find the kit, but they did have this neat Fox Valley WP covered hopper:

I liked that car when initially advertised. But in keeping with my 'era' limits ending in 1970... the COTS stencil dates the car beyond that time frame. Of course I have made many exceptions over the years... but now I am actually looking to sell off any rolling stock and locos which were not in service before 1970. As I wrote that... I grimaced at the fact I have SD40T-2,SD45T-2, SD40-2 and SDP40F... plus a few other sound equiped locos which could have nothing to consist with from the mid-1970s to the mid 1980s... Drats!!!

A Micro Trains MP bay window caboose, and a Atlas MP caboose.
    Brand new in case.
Might go back today and get a Micro Trains 8 pack of UP coal hoppers.
