I'm modeling 1930s to 1940s and want to know what type of era track is best: </font>
    • Atlas Code 55</font>
    • Micro Engineering Code 55</font>
    • ME Code 40</font>
    • Peco Code 55</font>

Boy! This should stir some posts! :D :D

There are a lot of threads on this and you can find them by using the search function.

I will summarize by saying that none of the track types listed above satisfy everyone. I would add that you can also consider handlaying.

[IMG] Got that right. Track type is something people take very personally. Depends on how prototypically accurate you want to be I guess. As far as scale rail goes the C40 is the closest, but still heavy for that time period.
With finer track like C40 it is a real test of track laying skills. Not sure about availability of turnouts in C40.

It comes down to a matter of personal preference, but for availability of track & turnouts (unless you're willing to scratchbuild your own), I'd go with code 55, either Micro Engineering or Atlas.

There was a company that offered code 40 turnouts over in western Colroado (Trainworx, I believe, in Delta), but I'm not sure if he's still around.

It also depends on your track laying skills. There is a lot to be said for the reliability of Unitrack.
