As many may knoy I have a specific pet project surrently on my workbench. A pair of SP SD38-2 with an Alco slug await completion but my local dealer informed me today that the GP38 shells I was counting on were not shipped by Atlas before thier shutdown. I have been making do with a few boxcar and sugar bet car projects but just need the drive of a loco project right now. Loco projects can really make me work on other things. When the loco project is stalled all others tend to fall away. I just browse the web aimlessly or some other valueless project. Anyone have a suggestion for a loco project, SP circa 1980-85 that makes sense with products commonly on the shelf at the LHS? The need to carve up a shell is high... [ 06. Catt, Local dealer is also a good friend and while I often do order direct the "support your Local Hobby Shop" mentality is still there. I place orders and thank my lucky stars that I still have a LHS.
TiVo, Just take a couple of deep breaths and repeat after me, "I am strong, I can make it though this." Then tackle some scenery, ballast some track, paint a backdrop. Don't allow one project's stalling to ruin your week. Jeff Augsburg & Concord R.R. (a fictional shortline in Central Illinois) http://www.pegnsean.net/~revnjeff
TiVo I understand supporting your local hobbyshop.A good friend owns one and I have good friends working in the other,BUT I still order all ATLAS parts direct.
TiVoPrince- "The need to carve up a shell is high..." Are you my long lost twin!!!!!! I like the SP, I used Dark Lark Gray for my "freelanced "FCN Railway's second paint scheme. I am not all that familliar with the 1980-1985 time frame, so any engine projects are?? Is there a Maintenance of Way project you can kitbash...... Jerry G.
