title says it all... i model a modern SP (i know bad to mention on this forum) and i am wanting to assemble stack trains that a modern SP would carry by this i mean a majority of the train would be a specific company's containers... as of now all i know is APL which we alternated with UP but since in my world SP takes UP we get the whole thing... so what others does UP haul?
Just going by what I see in person and in photographs... Containers that are likely to take up a majority of a UP train, or at least a large portion... -K line -APL (Question for you: in your alternate 'SP lives' universe, did NOL still buy the international part of APL and adopt the new blue containers? And did the domestic part of APL still become Pacer Stacktrain? ) -China Shipping -Domestic containers: mainly a mix of EMP, Hub Group, and Pacer Stacktrain, with some CSX. Some other common ones are: -Hapag Lloyd -Evergreen, Uniglory, Florens and Italia, usually seen with each other It seems to me that JB Hunt is rare on UP. As mentioned, so are Maersk and MSC. Also rare on UP (though common on BNSF) is Yang Ming. NYK is usually BNSF but I've seen more on UP recently
hmmm never knew about the APL change of name thing im just gonna say its stil APL they went with a new color
Down here I've seen APL, Capitol, China Shipping, Cosco, Evergreen, GE SeaCo, Hamburg Sud, Hapag-Lloyd, Horizon Lines, "K" line, Maersk, NYK Logistics, Senator, and Triton.
Capitol and GE Seaco are both leasing companies, so they can go anywhere. Container lines are also like railroads, they've had their own mergers and you'll still see "heritage" containers together with those of the parent company. For instance, you'll see Evergreen and Uniglory together, same with Hanjin and Senator. Maersk also owns P&O/NedLloyd (which is not affiliated with Hapag Lloyd).
