    Greetings All,

Back in March of this year I happened to acquire a small lot (4) of MoPac and MoPac related railroad issue decals at a model railroad show.

The largest is a 24 inch diameter buzzsaw that says Missouri Pacific Lines. I'm assuming that was probably the decal that went on the side of the locomotive cabs. The second is about a 12 x 12 inch decal that has the buzzsaw and screaming eagle and says "Mo-Pac". Probably something that was designed to go on the door of a truck or something.

Third is a 12 inch diameter buzzsaw with the C&EI text. [IMG]

And, lastly is a small (8 inch maybe) buzzsaw with the Alton and Southern text.

All in all pretty cool stuff, just not sure what I can do with them!

I was considering taking the 24 inch diameter Missouri Pacific decal and applying it to a large flat surface painted Jenks Blue. I've entertained thoughts of somehow turning it into a large wall clock but I don't want to deface the decal in any way. The other thought was to maybe overlay a glass top and make a 24 inch round "MoPac" coffee table out of it! :D

I could probably make a wall clock out of the C&EI decal without having to damage it.

    Any other thoughts?

Those all sound like good ideas. The only thought I'd have would be for you to send them to me, but that's probably not likely!

Eagle I thought the same thing. :D The C&EI decal would look best next to my C&EI steam engine photo, in my house, not yours. ;)

Are these original decals? I would be tempted to have them framed and not unstick them. Ephemera/Foamerabilia is something I dabble in and I personally prefer to keep it in it's original state.

I'd tend to agree with this suggestion. Also, if displayed, be certain to hang where UV damage won't occur.... Or if under glass, perhaps get a UV coated variety.

Eagle: Hehe! Probably not! Hey, I paid a whole five bucks for all those decals, they're VALUABLE man! :D [IMG]

Geeky: The guy I bought them from was a retired former MoPac employee. Said he's had those decals for years and got them from one of their maintenance shops before they tossed them in the trash. They're all very heavy duty decals with the 3M paper front and back. To display them I'd have to at least remove the 3M cover paper from the front. It would be nice to come up with a way to display them without having to damage them.

You sure you wouldn't want to send me your C&EI steam photo to go with that decal? [IMG]

uh,no sorry It's grandfathered into my collection. I mean that in the truest sense of the word since granpa Geek took it way back when. I may have a high res scan of it though. I'll have to look around.

See what you can do with those decals to preserve them, but definately enjoy them.
