This poll isn't working at 10:09AM when I vote HO it just comes up again. Then says I must vote before viewing results. Anyway, I'm HO all the way. :D

Must use Netscape version 6.2 or IE version 6.0 to allow poll selection and view results.
These newer versions of browers now handle the newest versions of HTTP 1.1 dom code and stylesheet coding.
I can't see all the new whistles and bells unless I use these higher versions. (ea. colored sliders, fade out windows, etc)
Of the two .... IE 6.0 does better.
Try "OPERA" browser also, more up to date.

    The latest poll window is:

I'm using IE 5.5 and it all seems to work OK. I should think (hope [IMG] ) you have to be logged in to do anything with the polls.

I've been in HO since 1961, current basement size layout in operation since Oct, 1986. My son & I have been in the process of building a "G"scale garden railroad for the last few years. Equipment: HO over 30 engines & 450 cars, "G" 5 engines and 20 cars.

    Mike,

You should thing about going to IE 6.0. Not really much new but a lot, lot more stable. Has to be the best one since IE 5.1.

Considering the usually stated percentages, why do you think N is so (over) represented here? Don't get me wrong, I do N, but the numbers are just totally off what the normal surveys show.

I think it might be a good idea to rethink the combining of 0 and 027 as a single option. I don't think the 0 Scale prototype modelers would take too kindly to being in the same group as the 027 Tinplaters. :D

If you are considering IE6.0, you might want to go to the IE5.5SP upgrade patch instead. I Had IE6.0, but I had too many problems with cookies, and my school is using software that is not compatible with much, and this is the one I had to upgrade to. I think It works well, depends on how yo use it, I guess.

IE6.0 gives the user the capability to block any/all cookies (perhaps earlier versions too). From the Toolbar, select Tools, Internet Options, Privacy, Advanced. Then select "Prompt" for First Party cookies and "Block" for Third Party cookies.

Now, as each web page is loaded, you will be asked to "allow" or "block" each cookie. After you have loaded a specific page the first time and blocked all, and have found that no problem occurs with the page by blocking its cookies, then the next time you load that page click on "apply to all cookies from this site" and you won't be asked again for that site. If you change your mind, just go back to the Tools, Internet Options, Privacy menu and select "Edit" to remove the "Block All" designation from that site.

This works great! I now have less than a half-dozen cookies after weeks of surfing. By the way ... Train Board requires cookies so that all its features will execute.

I also use AnalogX Cookie Wall, it is so easy to choose which cookies to allow, or clear out. AnalogX also have something called POW! which gets rid of pop-ups, if you tell it to. So no repeat pop-ups :D

Some of us model in more than one scale. I voted for the one scale that got me back into modeling. But I would have liked to vote for O scale in the 2 rail faction also. I didn't have a problem with the poll, but then I happen to be using the Dreaded Microsoft Internet Explorer. Hmm, an idea for a new poll?

I use IE6 and have no problems with unnecessary cookies because IE 6 and older versions allow control over cookies in tools internet options. Don't need anything else.
