I know we have a similar thread "What was your latest purchase".... But this is specific to holiday gifts you my have received. My family rarely buys anything hobby related for me... So I usually do my own year round shopping. Every so often I would get a gift certificate to the LHS from one of the kids... But that has not happened for a few years now. This years "present to myself" was a couple of Intermountain/Centralia 2-1-1 observation-lounge cars (SP & NP). Hopefully your family and friends are more attuned to your hobby interests and bought you some nice stuff this year. If you want to share news of your new gifts of model railroading stuff for the holidays... Here's your chance to publicly thank them for thinking of you and your hobby. As for me... I thank the Lord for all His blessings which include being able to enjoy this hobby. Happy Holidays.
I got one big box of supertrees and 2 z scale TCS decoders for AZL and a Nansen Street models roundhouse. Not a bad score for hobby related loot. Not train related, but also very cool, I got a Leather bound Tolkien illustrated atlas. I am blessed with a wonderful family that bothers to know what I like. Merry Christmas all. Trey
I received an IM/CCS 2-1-1 observation and 4-4-2 sleeper in SP Lark colors, and the MT SW1500 switcher, SP. Actually got them a couple weeks ago, for Chanukah
I got a Bachmann crane, FIFTEEN Micro-Train hoppers, five Micro-Trains boxcars, two Micro-Trains flatcars and a Micro-Trains sausage caseings reefer! Only five of the cars are not Southern Pacific, and one is a wholly owned subsidiary!
$50 Gift Certificate to our LHS, (Thank You Grandson), 2016 Kalmbach Model Railroader calendar (Thank You Self), and Kalmbach Great Model Railroads 2016 (again Thank You Self). The calendar and magazine enjoyment are well predicted. However, the gift certificate is going to take deep thought and cost/benefit analysis.
Got a Southern Pacific U50, and some Shapeways vehicles (a Winnebago, a Deuce and a Half, and Lord Humungus' truck)
Well my parents were amazing and I got an atlas c-420 (Erie mining) that I will turn into a rs18u, 10! Ore cars (8 undec 2 ATSF) and 1 tanker (corn growers?) my grandparents were amazing to, I got a decoder (for the c-420), a wot bulkhead flat ARR, and a book (I'll tell you later I'm on vacation away from home for most of the break) , a ballast hopper (MILW), a chopper I,
Will see if I can get my camera to take a usable view. It's not a large item, and my macro setting isn't very good.
Atlas 20.700 tank, a replacement digital camera, and a copy of "Warbonnets and Bluebonnets" by McMillan.
Bought myself a present. A good quality computer microphone to record announcer voiceover into my video editing program. What does this have to do with trains? I got it so I can edit a video digitization of my dad's 1953-1955 16mm films of the Lionel layout that ran to every corner of our living room at Christmastime. And into the dining room too. To put up on Youtube when completed.
My Christmas present to myself was a BLI SW1500 with DCC and sound. It arrived Tuesday. My Dog got more toys than I did.
Not specifically model railroad related, but for my purposes it is... got some supplies (consumables) for my 3D printer so I can print more stuff!! I did a lot of printing before Christmas so supplies were running low.
