I'm not for sure but that doesn't look like any ordinary panel van..... it looks like a Krispy Kreme delivery panel van!
Many old memories. Even though I didn't start driving was '58 on uncles farm. Then in '60 dad and uncle let me drive on the roads. At 13 ('63) I got my farm drivers license and with a lot of limits I could even drive in the little city. Mother and the cops didn't like that. At 16 ('66) I bought my first car. A '55 Ford. The gas station had not change much from the last pictures.
Old gas pumps on a ranch in near Marfa, Texas in 1939. Given how long it takes things to deteriorate out there, I wouldn't be surprised if these are still standing. Russell Lee Photo.
The Refiners Oil Company was based in Dayton, OH and in 1930 was purchased by Standard Oil Company of Ohio.
Dang straight it would! Lots of class and you can't mistake that for any other car on the road, at the time and ever since. Gotta love that rain gutter in the middle of the trunk.
And a free gallon can of supreme motor oil with every purchase of 5 gallons of That Good Gulf Gasoline! Gotta keep that Tin Lizzy well oiled!
