Different rib ends (7-8 or 5-5-5) as per the prototype on Atlas' N Scale USRA Single Sheathed Box Cars.

what does 7-8 or 5-5-5 discribe? photos of each?

The number of digits is the number of panels that the end of the car is made from. The value of each digit is the number of ribs in each panel.

This one has two panels, 4 ribs on the top, 5 on the bottom for a 4-5 or 4/5

    ah, got it.
    so a 5-5-5 is 3 panels of 5 each.
a 7-8 is 2 panels, one with 7 ribs, one with 8 ribs.
    I think I'm a 5-5-5 guy ;)
Those Atlas' N Scale USRA Single Sheathed Box Cars are some nicely detailed box cars.
    the doors even open.
now to find sitting hobos for inside the open door.
