What is the best way to paint stair sills?

    Put me down for decal stripes too.

    Decal stripes over paint for me also. More uniformity, cleaner edges, thinner appearance, more time and control to get it right. You do notice the difference, it's one of those little things I always look at when viewing someone else's detailing, maybe because I've spent so much time doing it I have to prove to myself it was worth it.

    Just for clarification- you guys are talking about decal stripes for the step edges, correct? Have never considered that before. Jamie

    Yes, step edges and in some cases step faces, ladder steps, sill stripes, etc. In this engine, everything yellow is a decal stripe of different width. I could not get the same level of opacity, straight edges, and overall neatness by painting. But, some people are able to do a good job with paint, I just can't. Paint seems to build up thickness when you apply light colour to a dark background colour too. It may take longer, but is less stressful as you have time to position the stripe and get it right.
