MP What is a MOPAC?

I have a question, i have seen that someone of you could some trains MOPAC but what is the definition of MOPAC, what kind of trains are MOPAC and who not?

 

MoP stands for Missouri Pacific, too.

MoP < ~1960s
MOPAC > ~1960s

Don't know exactly when the nicknames changed. Probably gradually.

 

Good question. Those who are familar use terms easily and forget that others do not understand. That is like me with computers; I just don't understand all the terminology. Good question to ask.

 

English is not my first language, that's dutch. Sometimes when i see a difficult dutch word, i can quess what the word means. But in english it's not that easy. UP and SP are easy but i don't now what MoPAC means. But now i know....

"MO" is the common abbreviation for the State of Missouri, hence MoPAC.

 

I am glad to see that someone else had the same question that I did a few months ago.
