Does TB have a list of custom painters or builders?

I'm too new to TB to be familiar with all the info we have (I have done some searchin'). What I'm wondering is, is there a forum or site with a list of you talented people doing custom work? Those of us with the shakes or dt's:tb-wacky: can't do everything we'd like to, so me personally, would like to go to a site here at TB and look to have some custom work done. I realize that a lot of you guys do it for your own satisfaction and I love to see the work. If we've already got something like this, forgive my ignorance.

Very Nice work! I love the CR/NS patch with the NS engine door. I saw, bid & lost on those NS containers.

    Like this one.... ;)

I'll admit that I totally messed up on the road number. Should have been 3352, but I got my notes mixed up somehow and 3338 ended up on the engine...

I don't believe the board has a specific spot for folks that do custom work. I think if you see something you like, just shoot them a PM and ask if they do custom work for others. I've had a few contact me that way.

    Thanks,
    Brian

As Daniel Leavitt pointed out, "Customers for custom painted models can be brutal."

I don't do RR engines but I did models for other industries years ago. Where one person will pay $300, another wants it for $50. I took my lumps at first, under- and over-bidding jobs. Over time, as I got more experienced, it evened out.

I’ve never had a custom loco and don’t really know if I’d be able to see the difference as they are running around my layout, but I sure like what I see in the close up photos.

As far as value goes, I’ve worked very hard for my money all my life, so I’m probably a little more frugal than others. The only real reason I’m thinking about “custom” right now is that I have some personal experience on Norfolk Southern #9363, Dash 9-40CW and I want one as a memorabilia. I think it would be cool to show one of my friends my loco and be able to say that this is an exact model of the one I was one.

If I could buy one already done and it was not too extravagant, I’d buy it, but probably not $300

    Bid Request:

Hemi has done two beautiful custom jobs for me. I don't remember the total but I wish I could have paid him more.

Now? I have a couple of undecorated geeps 35/38s. At best I could offer a two? locomotives in return for this (including custom decals):

I truly don't expect anyone to do a job like that for less than $300 but there is no way I can justify spending that much.
Maybe there is someone who would like a "simple" project:
I would also like a pair of Cabooses pained in CP Red with a Multi Mark even though I know CP did Yellow cabooses.
I'd be willing to trade 3? pieces of MT / IM rolling stock.

Any interest? Please send serious replies via PM or:

I recognize that your work is worth far more than I am offering and truly wish I could compensate you for your skills.
