What is a "Big Red Barn"?

Is there an official or unofficial generaly accepted group of locomotives that qualify?
Guess I'm suddenly interested in this because of Grant's pending release of F45s that I will have done up in a fantacy CP MultiMark scheme.

Canadian Pacific's SD40-2Fs, cowl units with Draper tapers, were delivered painted in Action red and are unique to CP.

As Lenny stated unique to CP. They look similiar to a F45 but taper in at the sides.

So, why didn't the name "Red Barn" stick to other CP cowl units?

 

There are no other CP cowl units. The HR616s, SD50Fs, SD60Fs cowls were unique to CN and the C40-8Ms CN and BC Rail.

 

That explaines that. For some reason, I thought CP had some of the SD50F's. Oh well, thanks for the info.

Cp did have 4 cowls for a short term lease, but i thought they were the sd60's. They were bought by CN , leased by CP for a short while and then returned to CN and renumbered into there present numbers.

 

I remember CP leasing 4 CN HR616s thru Bombardier for evaluation.
