I just discovered this group in the last few days and found it very helpful in improving some Walthers 5 unit double stack cars. I was thinking of joining. Now it has disappeared without explanation (unless it's there all along, right under my nose). Anyone know what the story is?
Is this what you were looking for??? The owner discribes himself as a "Freight and Intermodal Car fan." http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/IntermodalRailroad/
Seriously? That sucks. That's the thing about the groups, no one really knows about them, so those of us that do don't get around to posting in them enough and then this happens. Big time  Mike
I hope so Mark. I spent several hours over a few weeks writing up and posting some projects to this group, only to find them tossed without warning. I think Groups fill a useful niche for specialized content of possibly lasting 'how-to' value, and I hope they might be reinvented in that vein. -Gary
Gary, I have asked if there is an archived version. There was a lot of good information you, amongst others, posted and I would be disappointed if it has been lost.
Guys, with a little searching, I came across the main page for the group. Although we can't click on any of the discussions TrainBoard.com - N-scale Freight car and Intermodal Detailers Group I have a few freight car/intermodal projects that can be moved to the front of the table, I might as well start the group again. Gaz, Scott, Jan, James, you guys got anymore stuff you could toss in, just to start us off? I'm sure we could get some pictures added.... Let me know.... Mike
I'm definitely for getting us that content back, it's irreplaceable. I can't understand the reason for the 90 day policy.
James, Thanks for your patients. I'm not aware of any recent news on this one, but let me dig around and see if I missed anything.
Mike if you get the group going again i'll have a lot of cars to post as i'm just getting into the detailing of them so PM me if you get the group up and running again Bud:thumbs_up::thumbs_up::thumbs_up:
Unfortunately, when the inactive group was purged, all information went with it, so there is no chance to get the group restored to its previous state. I'm really sorry guys. It sounds like a lot of you put in a lot of time building up the group. But unfortunately, from the stance of enforcing policies, we had to treat all inactive groups the same. I will say that we're drawing up new ideas to avoid this happening again. I hope this doesn't put anyone off from joining back together to re-create the group. I think we could have it back up to its original size and better in no time.
I restarted the group N-scale freight car and Intermodal detailers group I will get my stuff reposted as time permits:tb-smile:
I have had in the past some problems with keeping my Logging Operations group going. What I started doing was sharing links to useful information there, separated into a few categories, as a way of keeping activity going and also to serve as an ongoing resource to others. I have also started a few "what are your favorite" topics. We've had some good participation, and it has gotten to the point where we pretty much have at least one new post per week now so we're in the clear. It really took some whipping for a while. Best of luck to all of you with the re-building of the intermodal group. While intermodal is not my thing, as another niche modeler (logging, SP&S, oddball MILW stuff) I can completely understand the appeal and the passion. Adam
