....about the paint scheme on the High Desert & Sierra locomotives. The scheme is modified from the Trona Railway in California The decals are made with the computer and then I saved them on a disk and brought it to the copy shop for printing on Microscale`s Trimfilm clear with a laser printer.</BR>

Nice job! Did you have any problems with the ink jet's ink smearing when you wetted the decals? If so, what did you do about it?

I like it! Very nice job with the paint & decals!

BTW, I checked out your website (I have a lousy understanding of German, sorry), and from what I saw, it's really nice. The rest of your model locomotives are awesome! [IMG]

That is a very well done paint job! A colour copier does a good job it seems. [IMG]

Your website is very professional, and interesting, pity there is not an English version, although the pictures do the talking [IMG]

Sooo... A Color Laser printer will work with those DIY decal sheets. I wasn't sure if the heat from thr fuser, heating the Toner, would mess up the sheets. Cool! Now to figure out how to sneek a few sheets off at work. :D Than again... I'm the PC Tech. I'm testing the equipment. ;)

    Thanks!

I want to congradulate you on some very nice pictures. You have done some perfect examples of modern SP power...worn, rusty, dusty, and starting to look ready for a well deserveed rest.

To everyone, for all you translation needs, try out this baby:

    Translate!!!

It works really well, you might have to go through a little bit of work to cut and paste into the window, but it sure beats doing with an old dictionry. And this site can do quite a few other translations too.

    Enjoy.

Thank you all for your friendly comments. In the past I`ve thought about an english version of my homepage. But I think my english is not good enough for such a project.
Maybe I translate an example and present it in this forum and you can give your comments about the english typing.
Watash, the printing was made with a laser printer, not an ink jet. Friscobob, I come over to Colorado in july this year for holidays.

About the AltaVista translator. Don't even think about using it (unless they have improved it a lot in the last 6 month). Try to enter a plain english text, translate it to spanish, take the translation and translate it back to english, and you have absolutely no idea of what the original paragraph was.
My wife is latin, and one time I got an email from some of her friends in"english", except I couldn't understand anything of what they were saying, and it turned out that they had used the AltaVista translator.

Sorry for this off topic post. Just felt I hade to give my opinion on translator.

The Altavista seems to work well enough to get a general idea...but it never gets word of word into an exact form. however, it makes it much easier to type something up in German, translate it, and then have a native speaker of the language proofred it then learning the entire language and it's rules of grammar...although that is a great skill if you have it.

You're most welcome, sir- and please feel free to contact me should you make it over to Grand Junction. As John C. said, he's just down the road from me. And if we can ever get Jim Harrawood over this way from Utah, we could have ourselves a mini-Trainboard reunion! [IMG]

PS- My understanding of the German language may be lousy, but I do understand railroad (or
eisenbahn, if you will) very well. :D

John, about the printer. I don`t known what type of printer my copy shop is using. But I guess all types of newer laser printer are suitable for microscales trimfilm. Try it! All what you can lose are a few $$ for the trimfilm and a little time for your artwork on the computer.
Friscobob, what a coincidence! Actually I come to Grand Junction on my way to Grand Mesa. I`ll try to contact you as soon as I am in the area. That could be funny; a mini Trainboard face to face in the desert. :D :D
    Regards Stefan
