For the general presentation of the layout and not to repeat me, see: http://www.trainboard.com/grapevine/showthread.php?140108-Hello-from-Belgium&p=842814#post842814 At the moment, I am still at the beginning of this reconstruction Small precision, the only place to install the train being the lounge , but having animals (dogs and cats ) and children, I opted for the installation in a big table. If the upper panel(sign) is wooden and not glass, it is by safety . If a child broke such a window by having a fall, it could have grave consequences My first paper US buildings ): a souvenir shop for the tourists and the workshop of the technical service of leisure park
Nice. I am enclosing my layout as well. Your theme of an American Wild West park is very clever. Do you have photos before your reconstruction?
I have effectively photos of the former layout. They were included in a video ( slide show) that here is. After dismantling and before reconstruction, there was this
Looks great! Especially like the way you have done the parking lot with the grass and weeds.....awesome job!
Having discovered recently the collection of buildings White Wash City, I removed the last buildings of photos to make more place for the western village. Some first tries were made with printed boards White Wash reduced in 1/160 By using some paper and styrene Evergreen, we obtain a satisfactory result(profit), but which can be again improved.
Figurines are missing only, but characters adapted to this decoration are very difficult to find in Europe. I thus began the transformation of figurines Preiser so that they correspond to buildings Old West
Other manufacturing with paper, a Stagecoach All the body is paper; the chassis, the wheels and the helm are in metal (got back by a chuckwagon PeterPig in 1/120), the rest in plastic.
A small part of the layout has just received its decoration . Constructions: White Wash City (reduced in 1/160) Figurines: Preiser modified by myself Accessories: Faller Some close-up of the transformed figurines Preiser.
I liked Clint Eastwood and John Wayne! Very nicely done! You might check out GHQ's website, and look for the 10mm Civil War Era soldiers. The Confederate soldiers would be likely candidates for modification because they wore "cowboy" hats. The figures are pewter, so they'd be easy to bend and modify. Cheers! Bob Gilmore
Thank you for the information about GQG. I know this manufacturer, and I received of aiileurs a order a few day ago. I am surprised moreover very pleasantly by the quality of the engraving of these figurines and by their sharpness . A horse GQG compared in one horse PREISER Other figurines GQG received this week I also work on figurines of the brand PENDRAKEN, as these Indians. Figurine Pendraken is however one less fine than the GQG I also wait for a order from MINIATURE MUSKET, who proposes some interesting subjects there N and in HO in the collection Rusty Rail. I hope to receive soon this order which was sent April 20th and did not still come there home in Belgium
Some small transformations were made for ways put near the camp of tents. I hid the engines of points Fleischmann and added of representation of the manual control levers Some images of the works and the result .
Some transformations on the rolling stock. Creation of a drovers caboose in the colors of the DRGW on base of one combines car Arnold
Formation of a train-crane around a crane Arnold with the creation of cars of protection on chassis bachmann Old Timer Both transformed cars were created because I had of problem of crossing of curves R2 Fleischmann by colliding the crane Arnold on the boom car Bachmann
Finally, I repainted the GP38 Life Like because the livery of Burlington and Northern did not correspond at the time of the layout. Error of beginner, it was my first purchase. I painted this locomotive as if Western City was also one pair of shorts line. Painting in brushes with colors Humbrol
