Wenatchee Southern was proposed to run from Wenatchee to Beverly on the west side of the Columbia River, and eventually down to the Tri Cities. Maps were made (I've got a copy of it around here somewhere), papers were filed, officers appointed, but no rail was ever laid. This photo was taken in Wenatchee, but who are they?
According to one book I own, they did have 10 miles of track. And one engine. Unless there was another incarnation of the same name. If you ever see a Switch key marked WSORR, or WSOR, it's not a Wenatchee Southern. Even though in the past at least one joker has tried to pawn them off as such on the 'Net auction sites. Boxcab E50
As I noted previously, this may be an altogether different operation. RY versus RR. Logging Railroads of The West- Kramer Adams- Superior Pub, Seattle, 1961. Wenatchee Southern RY 1922-1931. I erred saying ten miles. This book shows 11 miles. No other mention. I seem to recall reading something else that noted the one locomotive. Boxcab E50
