No doubt they'll start back up on the 11th, as I'll be off the internet for two weeks beginning that date. I have a SCORE Chapter Chair orientation to attend in Portland, Maine, so I'm taking the opportunity to go to the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum, The Pennsylvania Railroad Museum and some other sights on the way and returning to Florida. Should have lots of photos, though of steam locomotives.
I am hoping they open soon, as I need some info in a few threads, of which I did not 'make available offline'....
Hey, What's the big rush with Atlas? Most forumites are here or nscale.net.Yes,people are very comfortable there, but here is just as good,if not better than there.Remember, without rail images, most of us can't put up pictures. I like all the different places we can go here.Even when Atlas comes around,I will will still make this my primary spot to check in .
You know, I kinda like this forum better, in that it doesn't move 5 pages per day. W/ the Atlas forum you felt like you had to check in multiple times a day or 'miss something'. I've actually been getting some modeling done this summer, instead of being tied to the computer!! Dave
Speaking of August and Atlas, it says the shay is supposed to ship this month, but I haven’t seen any production samples besides the brass model. So will it ship this month, or are they going to push it back?
I prefer this site to Atlas, although there is more activity on the Atlas site, much of the posts are of an unconstructive nature.
We hope you all stay here.IMO and not because I am a moderator,I really like this site.We try to keep the flames down and really enjoy all the activity that has been going on here.Trainboard invites all of you to stay and keep up the good work.We like to keep things railroad related and have a GREAT bunch of people who are more than willing to help out in anyway they can.I know I have had A lot problems solved and questions answered here.I want to say thanks to all of you who have been here since the Atlas shutdown and keep up the good work!
This site certainly has piqued my interest. I will be posting on both boards. To answer your question- New Jersey.
Personally I hope all you Atlas guys continue to hang out here. I've learned a lot from your experiences. Three years ago I decided to get back into model rail roading and settled into this site. Since July 2002 I've worked very little so have not got anywere. Infact I lost my other interest. My '86 Honda GL1200A Goldwing. Hope I can still keep my house. But on the positive side, I've learned a lot from the regulars and all you that came over from Atlas. And remember there's 30 more days in August. I want one of those Shays.
I also hope you Atlas refugees stick around here We may not be as busy as Atlas, but look at the quality
