'Ello all, I'm in Wisconsin and I've spent a few months lurking here in the Z scale subforum, so it's probably time I make an account so I can actually talk to people. Current interests are T-Trak-Z that I'll be working on in my free time, and I plan on joining an NTrak club this weekend so I can get some experience railroading with others. Some day when I'm not in an apartment I'll get my own N scale layout, but for now the Z scale will tide me over. I'm also strangely more interested in UK and Japanese prototypes than US (UK in N and Japanese in Z) so I may end up being the only person in the club who'll be running UK stock. (It's a pretty casual club, they ran a pair of Hello Kitty Shinkansen trains last show so I should be ok). This also led me to dabble in OO gauge, but I decided I don't have room for it. That said, I have previously played around with Southern Pacific as my RR of choice for US stock, and I'm a fan of steam and the transition era, which feels like it's dying out these days. I used to have an N scale hollow core door layout in my basement as a kid but after moving around a lot it got left behind. So last year I finally decided to get back into the hobby.
Welcome aboard! The Z scale forum is pretty active as you know, but there's plenty other forums here that cater to other scales, prototype railroads and railfanning just to name a few.
Welcome to Trainboard Jake, I have a decent collection of Japanese Z Scale steam myself. Some of the best running Z Scale Steam is Japanese prototype from Tenshodo, and Rokuhan. I have 6 Tenshodo D51's, and absolutely love them! Right now I am building T-Trak Z modules with a Pacific Northwest theme, specifically, the Stampede Pass region of the NP mainline.
