    Con cor had a pretty big booth at the Long Beach Train Show last month, I talked to the rep. Seems they are still in business.

    Hmm. Oh well maybe I selectively blocked it out of my radar :) I knew Bachmann had a booth but didn't bother looking there.

    Actually, JB Hunt and Schneider still have sizable fleets, although they are different models that the old APL cans, some of them way different. The CC model seems to have been based on the APL cans. It's a pretty close model.

    Sorry Ben, should have clarified that I meant that I doubt none of the older sheet and post (smooth side) design 53' containers are still in service.

    I hadn't considered the modern composite containers, such as Wabash's Duraplate (a common Hunt container), to be a smooth side but can see that they could be called that. Thanks.
