RECIEVED TODAY FROM RUSS HOFFMAN (RUSH2NY): IT'S A RAILFAN! Ryan Christian Hoffman was finally born today, 1/21/04. He weighed in at 8lbs.13oz. and 21.5" long. Both Theresa and the baby are doing fine, albeit a bit tired. *CONGRATS RUSS AND THERESA! *GOD BLESS! JOHNNY
Yes, indeed, congratulations! I'll bet Russ will be hard to find here for a while. The little ones really do change your lives, and your priorities.
I hope that the new Railfan was properly welcomed into this world!. Skip the pacifiers, rattles, etc. He MUST have a scanner in one hand, and a camera in the other! Congratulations! Boxcab E50
Yep, he's a keeper! At that size, the Giants may come a-calling next year........ Congrats to the whole family!!!!!!!!! Once he gets past learning how to say Mama and Dada, I have another word he can learn- Frisco....
Congrats Russ to you and Theresa. You wouldn't believe it my son weighed exactly the same and was the same length. Best wishes to you and your family.
Thanks guys and gals for all your well wishes and thank you Johnny for posting the announcement. My computer time has been sporadic the last few weeks but I think that I should have some nice late nights to play catch-up! He is destined to be a railfan too! the monitor that my wife was attached to during labor had a little steam engine graphic chugging along with the babie's heartbeat. as for the photosensic stimulli, we already have a steam train lamp in his room and I am in the process of drawing pictures to match. As soon as he is able to really see and comprehend, he will know what it is all about! Paul, I think you know what a healthy size that really is then! I really give a LOT of credit to my wife. I would never be able to handle labor as she. Russ
Con grats Russ ,, I hope that you can adjust the the changes they bring. Every day seems to be filled with joy at watching them grow and learn. My daughters never fail to astound me at how much they understand even in the begining. I hope all are well and may your days be filled with as much joy as mine have and what ever happens do not underestimate the learning power of a child.. how did she do that and when did she start ?
For those that do not know much about me, I already have 3 daughters. So, in my house full of females (the dogs are female too!) Ryan is a very welcome addition. Here is a pic of him at one day old: Russ
Well then you now wont be the only male in the house.. I know how that feels. out numbered 4 to 1,, wife, daughters, and dog. all else fails I retreat to my room
I had forgotten about that pic until Johnny sent it to me! That is actually one of the sad stories that I must tell the new one about railroading in NYC. Those trolleys were supposed to be a part of a new trolley project in Brooklyn....unfortunately the city pulled the plug on it. They actually had some track layed and everything and the city ripped it all up. Oh well, stories like this will drive his passions even further as it does myself! Russ
