A hearty TrainBoard N Forum welcome to Charlie Vlk of Kato USA Charlie's TrainBoard ID is nchooch eNjoy
Yeah, he has already been spotted, Don Transition-era modellers are easy to spot Welcome aboard Charlie
Its possible that charlie wanted to be a member of this list incognito. Being identified as an emplyee of Kato likely limits his ability to say what he really thinks. Although, he did give some "easy to spot" clues to his identity. Daryl [ 02 May 2002, 12:25: Message edited by: DarylK ]
OHH NOO!! He's been outed! Which does bring up a very valid point, if he says something that puts Kato in what it feels to be in a negative light, he could be "let go" so-to-speak and there would not be much in the way of recoarse for him. Might I suggest giving him a new monicur for the board and this time lets keep quite this time, that way he could be a bit freer with his questions and answers.
Charlie is an active member of a number of N Scale lists, so I don't think he minds folks knowing that he works at Kato. Oh yeah, the "Kato R&D" in his sig is a small give away too
Listees: I will be on the board mostly as a fellow N Scaler. If I am in that identity I will usually sign with my N Scale home railroad....the Galesburg & Savanna Rwy. Co. If I have something to add in my official capacity I will sign variously as Kato USA, Kato USA - R&D or Kato USA - Parts. Thanks, Charlie (all of my identities)
Oh shame and embarrassment!!! My layout is not started yet. My NTRAK crew was over last night putting the finishing touches on the drywall mudding in the south half of the layout room; another group AMRAIL -construction division- is coming over Friday night; we may even start prime painting. No website yet, I get enough computers during the day at work. I do have to consider it though. I have some sceniced chunks of BraNchTRAK which will get incorporated into the railroad, but that would be cheating to show that. I will post trackplans of the two levels; I have to redraw portions of it as I have decided to slide the main yard at Savanna North a mile or so into the north half of the layout room so I can get decent aisle for road crews and yard operators to work. Hi Charlie, nice to see you here on the Trainboard. I remember talking to you a few times at Kato USA. So what kind of track does the G&SR run on?
Charlie, You're kidding right? I mean if you're shy or don't have a camera, or a layout, (like me), that's one thing, but we appreciate photos of modules or even under construction portions of layouts on this board. Heck, I appreciate photos of trains period! If you have photos, no need for a website, many are posted right on the board. If you need help posting photos, there are many folks who can help you or, (bless them), will even do it for you. Glad to have you aboard! 2slim
Charlie feel free to cheat with showing your BraNchTrak modules. There are a lot of TRAKers here who would like to see them.I know I sure would.
Welcome Charlie, Nice to have you aboard. Please don't hesitate to drop in to our "layout Design forum" with questions, and maybe some suggestions. We rarely talk engine product there, more about our problems and progress on our layouts. So you can safely escape into anonimity there. And I won't ever give you a wish list for Kato - ever! Well......maybe not..... what I'd really like from Kato is................... [ 02 May 2002, 23:53: Message edited by: rsn48 ]
Charlie! Welcome aboard! I was hoping to see you at our annual NTBN Fun-Run, but somebody dropped the ball on our end and...well, let's not go there. Anyway, glad to see you here! Hope to see you and your group of N-Trakers at some shows soon!
Gee, Charlie. I'm just waiting for someone to ask you for your autograph, aren't you?! [ 04 May 2002, 14:52: Message edited by: Shelbybla1 ]
Charlie, on another topic you (or someone?) mentioned that Kato welcomed photos of Kato products. I have an F7 A-B-B-A set the I painted for the B&M (what else? ). Does Kato accept unsolicited amature photos? If so, to whom do I speak ... you?
If you go to the Kato USA web site, www.katousa.com , on the left side scroll bar, click on "Customer Photo Gallery" . The proceedure for submitting photos is on the customer photo page. HTH
Hank, I would bet you've already been to the Kato website, but if you haven't looked at their Photo Gallery yet , you're missing something. I'm sure they'll show pictures of your Kato engines if the pictures are sharp, they put my super detailed Mikados on. I just emailed my photos their email address and they posted them with absolutely no quality loss. Their computer guys are good and I would also bet that Charlie is one of them!
Regarding autographs, talk to my agent. Regarding submitting photos to the Kato Customer Gallery, send them as attachments to me in jpeg or tiff format. Charlie Kato USA
