OK I'll throw my hat in for first entry. Here's an updated shot of Main Street in the town of Glacier lake.

Awesome photo Brian! May I ask how you got the road markings to be so crisp?!

    Thanks Mark,

I just used a ruler and a paint pen. I was pretty happy with the results when I used this technique on mat board as in this photo. Sadly it doesn't work near as good on my newer - foam covered in plaster - roads. I'm still experimenting on a way to do those.

I had to scramble to finish what was a half done crossing...it's all I have on the entire layout. I even had to scratch a cross buck.

We'd all love to see it! :) Plus, throwing at least something together would be great practice for our next modeling challenge. I wonder what could be in store then.... :zip: ;)

Well I hope we didn't make you scramble too fast and rush the scene. It still looks great though! :D :D

    Crew Change at Crescent

An elderly Geep eases a manifest to stop at Gross Dam Rd's crossing, for a crew change at last light. The GMC Suburban is brand new for this 1982 photo:

Hemi, you have to stop showing me those Rio Grande locos! Every time I see a shot of those on your layout I instantly want one myself! :p :D

Awesome photo Rasputen! There's just so much fun stuff going on to pull the eye to, yet the scene itself isn't cluttered at all! :D :D

    SD&AE "Postcard"

I don't have much for roads in my desert layout, but there is that dirt road that parallels the mainline. I took this photo and edited it to look like an old postcard, and the smoke, sky, and mountains are all digitally added.

On the road to ... ?

I just wanted to get out of town for the weekend. Instead, I've been sitting in this spot for an hour (OK, maybe 5 minutes), waiting on this STUPID train to get outta the way.

This is all I could come up with. With the layout in mid-demolition, I didn't have many options... :tb-embarrassed:

And, sitting in a bug at that! Very sad....

(whoo hoo! this is my 1000th post!)
